CHEERTAINER - REDUCING YOUR DISPOSAL COSTS

EU Packaging Waste Levies

The EU Packaging Waste Directive has set compliance targets for the recovery and re-cycling of packaging waste. Levies are being imposed by all member states to encourage the packaging industry to minimise packaging used and thus reduce the costs of its subsequent disposal.

These levies provide a significant incentive for buyers of packaging to seek alternative solutions that reduce their packaging waste. The Cheertainer allows for European manufacturers to capitalize on this savings opportunity.

The 10 Litre Cheertainer is 30% more space efficient on a pallet compared to round containers, significantly reducing inbound and outbound logistics costs.

United Kingdom Packaging Levies

In the United Kingdom, participants at all levels of the packaging chain contribute proportionally to their responsibilities and obligations. The criteria state that any organisation handling over 50 tonnes of packaging material with a turnover in excess of £2 million is required to comply with the packaging waste regulations. The scale changes according to fees, put on the open market and charged by reprocessors under law from the UK Environment Agency. The Packaging Waste Recovery Note (PRN) system is usually charged by material each quarter and enables companies to pay for the recovery and recycling of an equivalent amount of packaging to offset their obligation.
